National Representative Support

Glasgow Touch Association are delighted to announce Glasgow based players and managers who represented Scotland at the 2011 Touch World Cup in Edinburgh, are to receive funding towards the cost of their participation. National squad players are entirely self funded, each paying more than £700 to cover the cost of training, kit and accommodation.

The GTA will contribute over £2400, to be distributed between players and managers according to their costs for the event. The aim is to ensure continued involvement of these individuals in the highest level of touch available, therefore furthering development of touch in the region. The GTA's joint role as regional association and organiser of the Summer league, has enabled this level of investment, the beneficiaries of which are the lifeblood of touch in Glasgow.

Scottish Touch National Squad - Open Trial

Scottish Touch will be holding an open trial on Sunday 18th September at the University of Stirling playing fields from 11am to 1pm for those wishing to be considered for the National Training Squad for the coming season.

The eligibility criteria can be found on the STA website (http://www.scottishtouch.org.uk/national-squad/selection-eligibility/).

Even if you attended the Nationals last weekend it is still recommended that you come to the open trial if you can make it.

If you are unable to attend either event then you can still be considered for the national squad, however the selection panel will need to base their decision on their previous knowledge of you as a player – so if you can make it along to the open trial, do so.

Players need to contact the NSMC at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it giving the following details:
